Decom Archiving Lead

ROLE: Archiving and Decommissioning PM/ BA
  • Take ownership of and lead the decommissioning activities for each site for the in-scope applications
  • Develop the strategic plan for the decommissioning of the applications in each site
  • Engage with the site business PMs and the site data leads to develop the requirements documents for the applications to be decommissioned
  • Ensure all in-scope applications to be decommissioned have been thoroughly assessed for the following
  • Data migration
  • Data archiving
  • Local application decommissioning regulations as applicable
  • Compliance for decommissioning
  • Support contracts for the in-scope applications
  • Security requirements are met, including any user specific and data specific security requirements
  • License novation or closure of the decommissioned applications
  • Develop templates and artefacts to record and track progress of the decommissioning activities based on the overall plan for the site
  • Develop the decommissioning checklist and RACI matrix for all involved stakeholders
  • Ensure complete business cutover and stability of the new system before raising the flag to decommission; liaise with the wider ICE Archiving Lead and Data Migration Lead to ensure the above
  • Identify the key stakeholders responsible for approving the decommissioning activities for the in-scope applications
  • Manage all risks and issues arising out of the decommissioning activities and ensure that hare highlighted at an ICE programme level
  • Retain responsibilities in instances where physical handover of electronic data may be in scope for certain applications
  • Ensure the timely disposal of the hardware according to compliance and environmental policies
  • Well organised, with attention to accuracy and detail at the same time and have the ability to see the bigger picture, the strategic objectives and be pragmatic
  • Strong experience in application decommissioning; familiar with the data migration lifecycle, data archiving, challenges and options
  • Strong project management and planning skills
  • Background in GSK is preferable
  • Proactive self-starter with a keen sense of urgency and ability to deliver to deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
